President Trump Says Iran Deal in Final Shape, Strait of Hormuz to Reopen on Signing
President Trump stated June 11 that a peace agreement with Iran is nearly complete and could be signed in Europe this weekend. The deal would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and bar Iran from nuclear weapons.

He said the Strait of Hormuz will officially open as soon as the document is signed. Trump stated he understands that Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has approved the proposed deal.
He said the most important paragraph is that Iran will not have or purchase a nuclear weapon. The president said he will not attend the signing. Vice President JD Vance and other key officials will represent the United States.
Earlier the same day, Trump posted on Truth Social that he had cancelled scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran that evening. The post stated that discussions had been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved. Trump's post listed the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and others as parties that approved the discussions.
It said the naval blockade of Iran will remain in full force and effect until negotiations are finalized, with the time and place of the signing to be announced shortly. As of June 11, the Strait of Hormuz has all but closed, pushing up oil prices. Two dozen South Korean vessels remain trapped in the strait.
The proposed agreement would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and continue negotiations on Iran's nuclear program. S. demands include Iran abandoning pursuit of nuclear weapons and handing over its stockpile of enriched uranium.
