Financial disclosure reports filed with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics show U.S. President Donald Trump executed 18 trades in Coupang Inc. shares from October 9 to May 22 through two investment accounts. The reports list transactions in value ranges rather than exact amounts.
Purchases included blocks valued between $1,001 and $15,000 on October 9 and October 16, a $50,001-$100,000 purchase on October 9, and a $100,001-$250,000 purchase on February 12. Sales included blocks valued between $15,001 and $50,000 on October 16 and November 10, and a $50,001-$100,000 sale on May 22.
The three reports suggest Trump could hold up to $130,000 worth of Coupang shares. His 2025 financial filing reported no income or only small amounts from Coupang stock trading.
The stock transactions occurred while U.S. officials raised concerns about South Korean authorities' investigations into a Coupang data breach that affected more than 33 million users. A House Judiciary Committee staff report described the probes as "discriminatory attacks" on U.S.-owned businesses.
A White House official stated that Coupang is being "singled out" by South Korean authorities. Lobbying Disclosure Act reports showed Coupang spent more than $1 million on U.S. lobbying activities since the data breach emerged in November. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the disclosure reports.
