President Trump to meet new South Carolina senator in Oval Office
President Trump will meet Darline Graham, who was appointed to fill her brother's Senate seat, at 9:30 a.m. local time. The appointment followed the death of Senator Lindsey Graham on Saturday night.

President Trump is scheduled to meet Darline Graham in the Oval Office at 9:30 a.m. local time. Graham was appointed Tuesday by South Carolina's governor to serve the remainder of her brother's Senate term, which ends January 3. Lindsey Graham died Saturday night at age 71. The chief medical examiner ruled Sunday that the cause was aortic dissection due to cardiovascular disease.
" She stated he had been her legal guardian after their parents died when she was a girl and pledged to support the president and continue her brother's work for South Carolina residents. The state Republican Party will hold a special election August 11 to select a nominee for the November midterms.
The nominee will face Democrat Annie Andrews.
Additional scheduled meeting President Trump is also set to meet El Salvador President Nayib Bukele at 11 a.m. local time in the Oval Office.
