Fox NewsPresident Trump will deliver the opening speech at the Great American State Fair on June 24. The speech replaces a planned concert series after multiple artists withdrew from the lineup. Freedom 250 spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez announced the change.
Background on the lineup changes Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday that he was considering replacing the concerts with a rally. "We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain," he wrote.
Trump added that he did not want performers who were unhappy. "I don’t want so-called 'Artists' that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy. I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN," he wrote.
Several artists withdrew from the Freedom 250 concerts after the lineup was announced earlier this week. Those who withdrew include Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, Morris Day and The Time, and C+C Music Factory.
Trump’s additional statements Trump also wrote that he canceled his involvement with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts after a federal judge ordered his name removed on Friday. Rapper Vanilla Ice stated he is honored to participate in the Great American State Fair.
