Prince Harry Visits Birmingham for Invictus Games Event After Court Loss

Prince Harry arrived at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on 10 July 2026 and was welcomed by enthusiastic supporters of the Invictus Games. He watched demonstrations of wheelchair rugby and pickleball before playing pickleball in a doubles match and trying wheelchair rugby. The event marked the countdown to the Invictus Games, which will be hosted in Birmingham in 2027.

Prince Harry appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain during the visit and said the games were about overcoming adversity. He added that there is a huge amount of respect and hope, but also admiration and inspiration for the wounded servicemen taking part.

Prince Harry said returning to Birmingham was a real homecoming for many competitors because it is where they received critical medical treatment after returning from Afghanistan.

He also said there is resilience in every single one of us. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was originally planned to attend public events in the UK the week of 10 July 2026 but did not attend any. Two weeks earlier, details of the visit had announced her appearances in London and Birmingham, but she pulled out after a dispute over security levels.
