Princess Eugenie posted unseen photographs and a birthday message for her son Ernest on 30 May 2026, marking his third birthday. GB News reported the post included images of the child wearing a blue cap and playing with balloons, as well as kicking a small football bearing the Chelsea logo. One photograph showed Ernest walking hand-in-hand with his five-year-old brother August down a street.

August wore a blue hoodie with the hood raised, while Ernest kept his signature cap on. Another image captured an autumn scene of Eugenie and Ernest sharing an affectionate kiss beneath a tree with golden leaves. In the caption, Princess Eugenie wrote: "Happy 3rd birthday to my tiger-loving, hat-wearing, constantly hugging, fearless golden boy Ernie.

Ernest and August are the children of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. The couple married at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in October 2018. August was born in 2021 and named after Prince Albert, whose full title was Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel.

Ernest was born in 2023 and named after King George V, whose full name was George Frederick Ernest Albert. Princess Eugenie, 36, is expecting her third child this summer. Buckingham Palace confirmed the pregnancy on 4 May 2026 and stated that the princess and her husband were "very pleased" about the impending arrival.

The King was said to be "delighted" by the announcement, and August and Ernest are "very excited" to welcome a new sibling. The announcement came one day after Eugenie posted an Instagram tribute for Jack Brooksbank's 40th birthday. The new baby will be 15th in line to the throne and will not hold an HRH title, moving the Duke of Edinburgh to 16th place.

The child will become the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
