Princess of Wales to attend Wimbledon Ladies' Singles final

The Princess of Wales will attend the ladies' singles final at Wimbledon this afternoon, Kensington Palace confirmed. She serves as patron of the All England Club and will present the trophy to the winner. The final features Czech players Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova.

The princess will be joined by All England Club chief executive Sally Bolton, club chairwoman Deborah Jevans, and Lawn Tennis Association president Roy Colabawalla.

Background This marks the princess's second appearance at the championships this fortnight. She previously attended during the opening week to watch British player Arthur Fery in his second-round match. Fery reached the gentlemen's singles semi-finals before losing to Alexander Zverev.

The princess posted a message on X congratulating him on becoming the first British wildcard to reach that stage in the Open Era. The princess has served as royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016. Her attendance record at the tournament dates back to 2011, with absences only during her pregnancy with Prince George in 2013 and the 2020 cancellation due to the pandemic.
