Private Company Sells Fuel at Philadelphia Gas Station for $3.47 per Gallon, 33 Cents Below National Average
The White House on Tuesday announced the first Freedom Fuel gas station in Philadelphia selling gasoline for $3.47 per gallon. The private network of 25 stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania is offering fuel more than 30 cents below the national average without government involvement.

The White House announced Tuesday the first Freedom Fuel gas station in Philadelphia, where gasoline sells for $3.47 per gallon. The price is more than 30 cents below the national average of $3.80 per gallon recorded Wednesday by AAA. The $3.47 figure references President Trump as the 47th president.
In a post on X, the White House stated that President Trump is leading efforts to lower gas prices this summer. A White House spokesperson told CBS News that the company behind the Freedom Fuel Network is private and owns 25 filling stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Trump administration is not involved with the company and is not subsidizing the stations, the spokesperson said.
The stations can offer lower prices by reducing their profit margins. The White House post included a video of Philadelphia customers thanking the president for lower fuel costs. The national average price of gasoline across the U.S.
Reached $3.80 per gallon on Wednesday, according to AAA, down from a recent peak of $4.56 in mid-May. The state average price of gasoline in Pennsylvania stood at $3.98 per gallon on Wednesday. Oil and fuel prices soared after the U.S.
