A pro-Israel lobbying organization congratulated a Republican candidate Tuesday after he won a primary election in Kentucky. The group stated it had spent millions in independent expenditures to support the winner against the incumbent. The organization posted on X that it was proud to back candidates who support a strong alliance and help defeat those who work to undermine it.

It added that being pro-Israel is good policy and good politics.

The winner defeated the incumbent by a margin of 54.8 percent to 45.2 percent, with 104,071 total votes cast. Voters over the age of 65 largely supported the winner, while most younger voters backed the incumbent. The lobbying organization and other pro-Israel groups spent over $9 million in mostly independent expenditures during the race.

One super PAC tied to the organization spent $4.15 million in independent expenditures to support the winner.

In a separate statement, the organization said it was proud to help pro-Israel candidates win seats against detractors. It referenced another race in Georgia where a different candidate also prevailed. Pro-Israel donors contributed millions to a pro-Trump super PAC that spent nearly $7 million in independent expenditures in the Kentucky race.

The super PAC received $750,000 from a PAC tied to a billionaire donor and a $1 million donation from another individual. The Republican Jewish Coalition Victory Fund donated $3.87 million in independent expenditures to support the winner.
