Project Hail Mary Film Arrives on Video on Demand Platforms

The film adaptation of Andy Weir's novel Project Hail Mary is now available on video on demand platforms including Amazon Prime Video. Ryan Gosling stars as astronaut Ryland Grace in the science fiction story directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Grace awakens aboard the Project Hail Mary spacecraft after an induced coma. He discovers the other two crew members have died and begins to piece together his mission to study astrophages that are consuming the sun. Flashbacks show how Grace was recruited by Eva Stratt to research the organisms threatening Earth.

He develops methods to study the astrophages before being sent on a one-way mission to the Tau Ceti system.

Miller directed the film from a screenplay by Drew Goddard. Sandra Huller plays Eva Stratt and James Ortiz operated and voiced the alien character Rocky. The production used practical visual effects and a score by Daniel Pemberton. The film runs more than 150 minutes and features sequences set both on the spacecraft and in flashback scenes on Earth.

Ryan Gosling's performance as Grace has been noted for balancing comedic and dramatic elements. The story centers on themes of hope, collaboration, and scientific problem-solving.
