A massive projection protesting digital ID illuminated the walls of Edinburgh Castle in central Edinburgh last night, GB News reported. The Together Declaration displayed details of upcoming protests on the high stone walls as the sun set over the city.

Onlookers paused to photograph the display as dusk fell, with the projection visible from several streets away at the highest point in the city center.

The looped video included scenes from the Commons and footage from previous protests. It featured the message 'The fight against digital ID is not over…'. The Together Declaration, led by Alan Miller, has organized gatherings in London, Edinburgh, Belfast, and Cardiff on Saturday, April 25.

These protests target the UK Government’s planned implementation of digital ID. The group is opposing Keir Starmer’s attempts to implement a national digital ID, which it says will infringe on privacy and other civil liberties. Labour U-turned on making digital ID mandatory at the beginning of 2026.

Keir Starmer denied the U-turn was a sign that the legislation was neither dead on arrival nor undesirable by a significant portion of the population. He claimed that making the controversial identification mandatory was a means to tackle the country’s spiralling illegal immigration problem. Starmer told reporters: 'The purpose of it was to stop people working illegally in the country.

' Alan Miller is appealing to the government to redirect their energy towards a national bill of rights. An ongoing consultation on the national bill of rights has been met with a mixed reception. Miller argued to Michelle Dewberry on Wednesday: 'There’s been no debate and it’s not been in any manifesto'.

' Eight million directors are being forced into the one login system. The protests are taking place on Saturday.
