Proposed Fury-Joshua fight eyed for Wembley Stadium in late 2026

A proposed heavyweight boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could be held at Wembley Stadium with a start time as late as 04:00 GMT to suit American television viewers, The BBC reported. Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh, who is coordinating the all-British bout, stated on Monday that he wants the fight staged in England while also accommodating a global audience.

The contest is mooted for October or November 2026.

Wembley Stadium normally observes an 11pm curfew. Any extension would require agreement between London mayor Sir Sadiq Khan and Brent Council, whose safety advisory group would assess the request, the council told BBC Sport. Sources close to Khan described a 04:00 GMT start as "doable," though Alalshikh's representatives have not yet contacted the mayor's office.

"I tell you from the beginning, it depends if England give us all that we need," Alalshikh said. "We want the fight here in England, but we want the time zone of all the world, especially in America. If they allow us to have Wembley late in the night, we want to do it in England.

Alalshikh added that he will discuss the matter with the mayors and Prince Abdullah bin Khaled bin Sultan. The BBC noted that several prior combat sports events in Britain have started in the early hours to reach U.S. audiences, including Ricky Hatton's 2005 fight against Kostya Tszyu and Joe Calzaghe's 2006 bout against Jeff Lacy, both at Manchester Arena, and UFC 304 in Manchester in July 2024.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, who represents Joshua, said last month that the signed agreement requires the bout to take place in the United Kingdom. Fury, 37, is scheduled to face Mariusz Wach in Thailand on 24 July 2026, while Joshua, 36, faces Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia the following day.
