Prosecutors Seek to Play Husband's 911 Call in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial

Prosecutors in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy filed a motion June 4 seeking to introduce her husband Patrick Clancy's 911 call made after he returned home and found the bodies of their three children. The call captures Patrick Clancy asking his wife about the children's whereabouts and later yelling for help after discovering the children in the basement. " as police arrived.

The government argues the recording shows the spontaneous nature of Patrick Clancy's statements and demonstrates how quickly he removed exercise bands from the children's necks. Prosecutors said this evidence supports their position on the deliberateness of the acts.

Lindsay Clancy, 35, has pleaded not guilty to three counts each of murder and suffocation. She is accused of killing Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, on Jan. 24, 2023, at the family home in Duxbury. Her attorney Kevin J. Reddington has indicated he will pursue an insanity defense.

If acquitted on those grounds, Clancy would be committed to a state psychiatric hospital for periodic reviews rather than released.

Prosecutors also seek to admit autopsy photographs, stating their evidentiary value outweighs any potential inflammatory effect. Reddington has moved to exclude blood stain pattern analysis testimony from a state police crime lab expert, calling it speculation.

m. Clancy's trial is set to begin July 20. She remains at Tewksbury Hospital, where she is receiving treatment for injuries that left her paralyzed from the waist down.
