Psy's 2012 hit "Gangnam Style" reached 6 billion views on YouTube on July 17, according to his agency P Nation. The video became the most-watched K-pop music video of all time, Yonhap reported. The song was released in July 2012 and had already passed 5 billion views by December 2023.
It took roughly 14 years to reach the new total. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Psy marked the occasion during a concert on July 19.
He thanked fans for their support and promised to upload a new video on YouTube. The track peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Its music video was also the first K-pop video to exceed 1 billion views on the platform.
