Qantas to Begin Non-Stop Sydney to London Flights in October 2027
Qantas announced non-stop flights from Sydney to London will begin in October 2027 using specially modified Airbus A350 aircraft. New York is planned as the second destination for the routes.

Qantas will begin non-stop flights from Sydney to London in October 2027 aboard specially modified Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft.
Tickets for the flights go on sale in February 2027. The airline said the London route will become the world's longest commercial flight. Qantas expects the aircraft to depart Sydney in the afternoon and arrive in London in the morning.
Hudson also said the A350 will initially connect Australia's east coast to London and New York. Chief financial officer Rob Marcolina said Qantas targets premium travelers rather than competing solely on price with Middle Eastern carriers.
Sunrise was announced nearly a decade ago.
The first aircraft is now in test flights and a second has been painted in Qantas colors. Airbus told Qantas the first aircraft will not be delivered until 2027.
