The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, features a new venue called the Bunker for 2026. Radiohead, an English band, has developed an audiovisual installation titled 'KID A MNESIA' for the space. The installation marks the 25th anniversary of the band's albums 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac,' released in 2000 and 2001.
The Bunker is a subterranean structure. The venue provides a shaded area amid the festival's outdoor setting in the desert.
The installation includes animations.
These animations depict figures in post-apocalyptic environments. Artwork is displayed throughout the Bunker. A merchandise shop offers Radiohead items. Workers completed preparations, including concrete floor cleaning, ahead of public access on Friday.
A tour of the site occurred early Friday afternoon. The installation's first public viewing followed the preparations. Radiohead is not performing at the 2026 Coachella festival.
After Coachella, the 'KID A MNESIA' installation will tour other locations.
Additional tour destinations are planned. The project reflects Radiohead's history with experimental art and music. 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac' were recorded during the same sessions but released separately.
The albums shifted the band's sound toward electronic and ambient styles.
