Raffensperger Falls Short in Georgia GOP Governor Primary

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger received 14 percent of the vote in the Republican primary for governor and did not advance to the runoff. Primaries also took place Tuesday in Alabama, Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger received 14 percent of the vote in the Republican primary for governor and did not advance to the runoff. Lt. Gov. Burt Jones received 37 percent and health care executive Rick Jackson received 34 percent, according to the Associated Press. Jones is considered the favorite to win the nomination after President Donald Trump endorsed his campaign.

Senate race, Republicans are hoping to defeat Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in November. The race has not yet been called, but GOP Rep. Mike Collins is in the lead for the GOP nomination.
