New Raiders linebacker Nakobe Dean was not present on the field at the team’s mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Multiple reports confirmed the absence on June 9, 2026. Dean missed the entire voluntary offseason program.

He attended the Raiders’ media day on Monday and posted a photo on social media showing himself in uniform against a green screen. Raiders assistant head coach Mike McCoy addressed the absence. “No, there’s no concern,” McCoy said.

“He’s a pro. ” McCoy said the team is taking a measured approach. “The number one thing is that we’re taking it one day at a time, and we can get through these next couple days and minicamp and you get through training camp,” he said.

McCoy added that freshness for the regular-season opener remains the priority. “The key thing is to have everybody as fresh as possible and ready to go for the opener. That’s the number one focus,” he said.

Dean’s reason for missing the session is not known. He has played only 47 of 68 possible games in his career. Dean missed time with a pectoral injury, a foot injury, a patellar tendon tear and a hamstring injury.

He spent his first four seasons in Philadelphia after the Eagles selected him in the third round of the 2022 draft. 5 sacks, 13 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles and five passes defensed.
