Rain and lightning forced officials to delay the start of Sunday's IndyCar race at Nashville Superspeedway. m. ET. The World Cup final between Spain and Argentina went to extra time, extending post-match coverage and pushing back the planned handoff to IndyCar.
A revised start time has not been announced, though the race will still air on Fox and the IndyCar Radio Network. Kyle Kirkwood will start the race from the pole position.
Speedway, a heavy downpour delayed the start of the Window World 450, though the hold was expected to be shorter than the one at Nashville. Ty Gibbs will start first after Ryan Blaney, the original polesitter, dropped to the rear of the field because of power steering issues. Both series encountered weather challenges on the same evening, though the IndyCar postponement lasted longer.
