Persistent showers forced the postponement of the Los Angeles Dodgers' game against the New York Yankees on Saturday in the Bronx, marking the club's first rainout of the 2026 season. The decision arrived more than three hours before the scheduled first pitch and shifted the matchup to the opening game of a Sunday split doubleheader, prompting the Dodgers to name Yoshinobu Yamamoto as their starter for that contest.

The club has not announced a starter for Game 2. It was the second time this season the Yankees had a Saturday night Fox game postponed by rain, following a June 6 postponement against Boston.
