Rangers agree to re-sign defender and open talks on midfielder

Rangers have agreed to pay Bristol City around £1.5 million to re-sign defender Ross McCrorie. The 28-year-old has completed his medical and will sign a three-year contract with an option for a further year. Bologna have opened preliminary talks with Rangers over midfielder Nico Raskin.

Rangers value the 25-year-old Belgium international at around £20 million. Hull City have offered between £12 million and £14 million for Raskin.

Other transfer activity Rangers have been priced out of a move for American right-back Bryan Reynolds after Rennes offered around £3.3 million. Celtic have opened talks to re-sign left-back Marcelo Saracchi, but the 28-year-old does not want another loan spell and the deal depends on matching Boca Juniors' £1.3 million asking price.

Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn has emerged as a possible target for Manchester United after his release by Nottingham Forest. Scotland centre-half Jack Hendry has agreed terms on a two-year contract with Al-Ettifaq that will be announced after the 31-year-old's participation at the World Cup.
