Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson spoke to reporters after an offseason practice Wednesday, his first comments in four months. He said contract discussions with the team remain private while stating he still envisions a long-term future in Baltimore.

"I love this city," Jackson said. "This is the team that drafted me. " The Ravens are seeking to extend Jackson's contract. He has two years remaining on his current deal, and his salary cap hit is scheduled to rise to $84.34 million next offseason.

Jackson did not reach a new agreement before free agency began in March. Jackson represents himself and has no agent. Four years ago he requested a fully guaranteed contract. He signed a five-year, $260 million deal in April 2023 that included $185 million in guarantees.

When asked about seeking another fully guaranteed contract, Jackson said the prior discussion occurred in 2022 and should stay there.

Jackson played through multiple injuries last season.

He first noticed a hamstring issue in Week 3 against Detroit and aggravated it the following week in Kansas City, missing three games. He also dealt with knee, ankle, toe and back injuries that caused him to miss practice throughout the year. Jackson described the string of injuries as a one-time occurrence.

He finished with a career-low 67 rushing attempts. " The Ravens missed the postseason for the first time since 2021.
