Reagan Washington National Airport to close midday Saturday for July 4 events

Reagan Washington National Airport will restrict all inbound and outbound flights starting at noon on July 4. The airport will operate at reduced capacity until the airspace reopens at midnight on July 5. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said the temporary shutdown stems from planned military flyovers, aerial performances, and a large fireworks display.

The airspace was already closed on Friday for practice flyovers.
