Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman said Yankees general manager Brian Cashman owes him an apology for how his previous time with the team ended. Chapman pitched for the Yankees from 2016 to 2022. He saved 146 games and was a three-time All-Star during that span.
46 ERA, dealt with a left leg infection from a tattoo, and lost the closer role to Clay Holmes. Chapman was left off the Yankees' 2022 playoff roster after missing a mandatory team practice at Yankee Stadium before the AL Division Series. He claims he received permission to go to Miami.

Chapman said any potential move to New York would first require a conversation with the manager. He added that he has no control over trade rumors and is focused on performing when called upon.
