The Boston Red Sox will try to complete a nine-game road winning streak when they face the New York Mets on Sunday. The last time Boston won nine consecutive games away from home was in 1977. Boston entered the All-Star break in the playoff hunt and has swept series at the Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White Sox to start the streak.
On Saturday the Red Sox beat the Mets 4-0 with a bullpen game after interim manager Chad Tracy bypassed scheduled starter Brayan Bello. Eduardo Rivera worked 3 2/3 innings and allowed one hit while five relievers combined on a three-hitter for the team's ninth shutout of the season.
Andruw Monasterio and Masataka Yoshida each hit two-run home runs that scored Chad Durbin, who batted cleanup for the first time in 2026.
