yardbarker.comDetroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin requested a trade from the team last week. Sportsnet’s Eliotte Friedman reported the request, citing multiple sources. Larkin holds a full no-trade clause for this season and next. Friedman stated that Larkin’s involvement in the trade market is massive and that his control over the situation does not change July 1.
Preferred Destinations According to Helene St.
James of the Detroit Free Press, Larkin narrowed his list to three teams: the Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights, and Minnesota Wild. The Panthers finished 40-38-4 this season after reaching three straight Stanley Cup Finals. The Golden Knights currently lead the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 in the 2026 Stanley Cup Final.
Adding Larkin would place the team back in the Stanley Cup conversation next season. Minnesota would pair Larkin with USA Hockey gold medalists Quinn Hughes, Matthew Boldy, and Brock Faber. Larkin, 29, has reached the playoffs once in his 11-year career.
St. James wrote that any trade within the Atlantic Division would require a phenomenal return.
