Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe Attend Son’s NYU Graduation

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe attended their son’s graduation from New York University on Friday. In photos from the event at Radio City Music Hall, the former couple posed with the graduate and appeared smiling. Witherspoon, 50, wore a blue midi dress with a white blazer, cream handbag and heels.

Phillippe, 51, wore a white button-down shirt, black trousers and Nike sneakers. The couple were married from 1999 to 2008 and share a 22-year-old son and a 26-year-old daughter. The daughter and Witherspoon’s 13-year-old son with ex-husband Jim Toth also attended the ceremony.

Jim Toth was seen at the graduation as well. The family posed for photos together outside the venue.

Hudson and fiancé Danny Fujikawa attended the same graduation ceremony to celebrate Hudson’s eldest son. Hudson’s mother Goldie Hawn and her partner Kurt Russell were also present. Russell was seen chatting with and hugging Witherspoon. The “Legally Blonde” star and the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” actor have co-parented their two children since their divorce.

They have attended several milestones together, including a homeschool graduation in 2022 and an album release event in April 2023. In a 2024 social media post, Phillippe referenced a photo from the 2001 premiere of “Legally Blonde” and commented on their past appearance.

The pair first met at Witherspoon’s 21st birthday party in 1997 and co-starred in “Cruel Intentions” two years later. Both Witherspoon and Phillippe have had other children with subsequent partners. Witherspoon was married to Jim Toth from 2011 until their divorce in 2023.

Phillippe shares a 14-year-old daughter with ex Alexis Knapp.
