Reeves Says UK-EU Partnership Is Britain’s Most Important Alliance and Calls for Closer Ties

Chancellor Rachel Reeves stated that Britain’s partnership with the European Union is now the country’s most important international alliance, GB News reported. She addressed the annual Mansion House dinner on Tuesday evening and told attendees that the UK’s future prosperity depends on deepening ties with Brussels.

Reeves said the UK should be “included not excluded” from EU arrangements as standard.

“The prize for Britain of a closer relationship with Europe is immense,” she said. ” Her remarks followed a meeting with regional mayors in Darlington on Monday. The speech coincided with Sir Keir Starmer becoming the first British prime minister to receive France’s Légion d’honneur from President Emmanuel Macron, GB News reported.
