Republican Party to Hold Midterm Convention in Dallas on September 9-10

President Trump announced that the Republican Party will hold its first-ever midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, on September 9-10. Trump posted the plans on Truth Social. "BIG NEWS! For the first time ever, the Republican Party will hold a MIDTERM CONVENTION.

It will be in Dallas, Texas — One of my favorite places in the World," he wrote. The Republican National Committee amended its procedures in January to permit the additional event. The dates place the meeting roughly two months before the November midterm elections.

The convention will focus on eliminating taxes on tips, overtime and Social Security benefits, securing stronger borders and safer communities, advancing American energy dominance and lower oil prices, and tracking progress on denuclearizing Iran. It will also feature entertainment and recognize first responders, innovators, entrepreneurs, manufacturers and job creators.
