Casa Tua Cucina will open next year on the ground floor of the former Williamsburgh Bank Tower in Downtown Brooklyn. The restaurant will include a curated food hall and dining space modeled after an Upper East Side location. Nearly 6,000 new apartments have opened along the Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue corridors since 2024. The new housing has added roughly 12,000 residents to the area.

An additional 2,000 units are under construction and 6,092 more are in the development pipeline. The residential growth followed several zoning changes and efforts by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership to improve streetscapes and attract businesses. More than 30 new restaurants and high-end grocery stores have opened in the area.

Recent arrivals include Lidl, Aldi, The Fresh Grocer, Mito, and Kashi, offering cuisines from Chinese, Jamaican, Filipino, Italian, Korean, and southern-American traditions.

Fung, a Taiwanese dumpling chain, is also scheduled to open at a new tower called The Brook. Chris DeCrosta, a founder of GoodSpace NYC, said the influx of residents created a built-in customer base that has drawn new food businesses. Regina Myer, president of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, said the Casa Tua Cucina partnership with Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment represents an investment to improve downtown.

The organization manages three business-improvement districts and has worked with city agencies on landscaping, lighting, and security. The ground floor of the landmarked tower had remained vacant since its conversion to luxury condos in 2007, aside from a short-lived food hall and events.

Myer said the group hopes to attract more sit-down restaurants in addition to fast-casual options.
