Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2026 Inductees Including Phil Collins, Iron Maiden and Wu-Tang Clan

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2026 class of inductees on Monday evening during an episode of the television program American Idol. The performer category includes Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.

These artists met the eligibility requirement of having released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to 2026.

The announcement took place on American Idol, where performers from the show presented songs by past Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees. The inductees represent a range of genres, including R&B, heavy metal, post-punk, Britpop and hip-hop. Three inductees—Phil Collins, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan—received their first nomination this year.

Phil Collins joins as a solo artist after his prior induction with Genesis in 2010. His solo career includes hits such as In the Air Tonight, Against All Odds and Take Me Home. Collins contributed to Genesis as drummer starting in 1970 and became lead singer in 1975.

Ceremony and Broadcast Details The induction ceremony is set for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

The event will be filmed and broadcast on ABC in December, with streaming available on Disney+. Organizers stated that the 2027 ceremony will occur at the hall's home in Cleveland. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Chairman John Sykes commented on the inductees in a statement.

He described induction as music's highest honor and anticipated an unforgettable night at the ceremony.
