The attack follows a poll published May 18 by the Lebanese outlet Al-Jadeed that found 58 percent of respondents supported disarming non-state armed groups, while 34 percent opposed the measure. Support for disarmament reached 89 percent among Orthodox Christians, 87 percent among Maronites, and 77 percent among Druze respondents.
