Roku will stream Savannah Bananas games over the July 4th weekend and has added an interactive recreation of Grayson Stadium to its Roku City screensaver. The feature directs users to clips and replays after a greeting from founder Jesse Cole.
The Hollywood ReporterRoku is adding an interactive recreation of historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Georgia, to its Roku City screensaver ahead of the July 4th weekend. Users who click into the stadium will first see a greeting from Savannah Bananas founder Jesse Cole directing them to a Saturday game, then enter the Banana Ball Zone for clips, highlights and game replays.
The stadium marks the first interactive element added to Roku City.
Roku holds streaming rights to Savannah Bananas games over the holiday weekend and previously streamed one game and related show in 2025. Joe Franzetta, head of sports for Roku Media, said the integration creates a dedicated destination with replays of past games and serves as a pathway to other Bananas contests on partner platforms.
The July 4th timing aligns with the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Jesse Cole stated that the Savannah Bananas invest over $13 million annually to produce their own broadcasts and make every game available for free on YouTube. The team also holds TV deals with TNT Sports, The CW and Disney, which has exclusive rights to the Banana Ball playoffs that are also free on YouTube.
Franzetta noted that Roku directs viewers to YouTube, Disney+ or other services where additional games may be available.
Cole said the partnership fits the platform's experimental approach after positive response to last year's package.
