Romanian Men Carried Out Knife Attack on London Journalist, Court Told

Prosecutors told a British court that a team of Romanian men carried out a knife attack on a journalist working for a Persian-language media organization in London. They had committed a planned attack preceded by reconnaissance and ordered by a third party acting on behalf of the Iranian state, the prosecutor said.

The statements were made during proceedings at the Old Bailey.

Police officers were present as people gathered outside the court building. The case involves allegations that the Iranian government directed the attack through intermediaries.
