The private beach destination on Haiti’s northern coast features white-sand beaches and the Dragon’s Breath Flight Line, one of the world’s longest over-water ziplines.
A Royal Caribbean Group spokesperson said the decision followed continued evaluation of conditions in Haiti.
“As we continue to evaluate conditions in Haiti and our ability to deliver the best vacations responsibly, we have decided to extend the suspension of ship calls to Labadee through June 2027,” the spokesperson told Fox News Digital. ” The U.S. State Department maintains a Level 4 “Do Not Travel” advisory for Haiti, which continues to experience widespread gang violence and political instability.
Labadee sits roughly six miles northwest of Cap-Haïtien, Haiti’s second-largest city, and operates as one of the few private cruise destinations in the country. The company stated it has communicated the changes directly with guests. It added that it remains committed to Labadee team members and has identified positions across its fleets and destinations to place them during the pause.
Royal Caribbean Group also said it continues to support local communities through ongoing humanitarian efforts, including monthly food donations. Passengers on a Royal Caribbean forum reported that their Labadee stops were replaced with destinations including Grand Cayman, Grand Turk, Cozumel, and Nassau.
