Royals Activate Witt, Perez, and Caglianone From Injury Issues vs. Rangers

The Kansas City Royals returned three regulars to their lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Texas Rangers in Kansas City, Mo. , Salvador Perez and Jac Caglianone had each missed time during the team's weekend series in Minnesota. Witt batted second and played shortstop after leaving Sunday's game in the seventh inning with right knee soreness.

280 with 27 RBI and nine home runs in 66 games, tying for the club lead. Perez was hit by a pitch on his right thumb on June 5 and missed the lineup on June 6-7 because of a cracked thumbnail and swelling. 204 with 26 RBI in 61 games.

Caglianone returned to right field and batted sixth after dealing with right shoulder soreness that began when he crashed into the wall on June 5. Right-hander Stephen Kolek also returned after being out since June 4 for a family emergency.
