Rumer Willis said a June 2024 wedding in the Cayman Islands prompted her to end her relationship with musician Derek Richard Thomas. She made the comments on the podcast “The Inside Edit” hosted by Maeve Reilly, the bride at the event. Willis told Reilly that hearing the couple’s vows made her realize her own relationship would never reach that level.
She described watching the ceremony while holding her daughter and deciding she needed to value herself more.
Thomas were first linked in May 2022.
Their daughter Louetta was born in April 2023. Willis confirmed in August 2024 that the couple had separated and were co-parenting. ” She said she now feels she is “back in her power again” and is proud of how she supports her child. Willis stated she is grateful for the experience because it raised her expectations for future partnerships.
She said she is manifesting marriage next year and wants to have eight children total.
