Russell Wilson retires from NFL at age 37
Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson announced his retirement after 14 seasons. He will transition to a media role as an analyst with CBS.
The BbcRussell Wilson has retired from the NFL at age 37 after a 14-season career. Wilson spent 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and led the team to its first Super Bowl victory in 2014. The Seahawks reached the Super Bowl again the following year but lost. Wilson was selected in the third round of the 2012 draft and earned NFL rookie of the year honors in his first season as a starter.
Career moves The Denver Broncos acquired Wilson in a 2022 trade but released him in 2024. He then played for the Pittsburgh Steelers before spending most of last season as a backup with the New York Giants. Wilson recorded 46,966 passing yards and 353 touchdown passes, ranking 16th and 12th respectively on the all-time lists.
He also rushed for 5,568 yards and 31 touchdowns. Wilson will begin work as a CBS analyst after retirement.
