Russian-Backed Authorities Halt Public Fuel Sales in Crimea

Russian-backed authorities in occupied Crimea have suspended fuel sales to the public after Ukrainian strikes damaged oil facilities on the peninsula. The move follows earlier rationing that had already limited supplies. Officials said fuel would now be sold only to government agencies responsible for the region's functioning and security.

Ukrainian drones struck an oil depot in Kerch overnight, killing four people and injuring 28, local authorities said. President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack as a just response to Russian strikes. Zelensky said Kyiv also hit an oil logistics facility in Russia's Krasnodar region across the Kerch Strait. Local authorities there reported one person killed on a passenger ferry.

Military logistics facilities and radar systems were also struck, Zelensky said. He added that at least seven people were killed in Russian attacks over the weekend, with children among more than 30 injured. Russia's defence ministry said 239 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight.
