France 24A Russian drone crashed into a 10-story apartment building in the eastern Romanian city of Galati on Friday, injuring two residents, Romanian authorities said. The incident occurred during a Russian overnight attack on Ukraine. The drone went off course and struck the building near Romania’s border with Ukraine.
National Defense stated that the entire load of the Geran-2 drone exploded on impact. The two injured people were taken to the Galați County Emergency Clinical Hospital. The ministry said investigations are continuing and firmly condemned what it called the irresponsible actions of the Russian Federation.

Russia has not commented directly on Romania’s accusations.
Maria Zakharova of the Russian Foreign Ministry told the TASS news agency that attention on the drone incident was intended to divert focus from events in Starobilsk. Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Union, said on social media that Russia’s war of aggression had crossed another line and expressed full solidarity with Romania.
