Russian Missiles and Drones Kill 10, Wound Over 80 Across Ukraine

Russian forces killed at least 10 people and injured more than 80 others in a missile and drone attack across Ukraine on July 11. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia fired 12 missiles, six of them ballistic, and 121 drones during the overnight assault. A 67-year-old man died when his home in the Donetsk region was struck.

In Sloviansk, three FAB-250 guided bombs damaged at least 15 private residences, killed one man and injured three others. Apartment buildings, government facilities and vehicles were also hit. Ukrainian officials published images of a destroyed passenger bus and car.

Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles, injuring 11 people including an 11-year-old boy. Ukrainian air defenses shot down two guided missiles and 111 drones. On July 8 at the NATO Summit, President Trump promised Ukraine a license to produce Patriot interceptor missiles domestically.

The United States had previously supplied the interceptors but had not permitted local manufacturing. Former President Biden had rejected repeated Ukrainian requests for such a license. President Trump said his relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had improved since a February 2025 Oval Office meeting with Vice President JD Vance that ended in a shouting match.

At the summit he stated: “We’ve actually developed a good relationship! Hard to believe, right? ” Zelensky and at least 25 other world leaders are scheduled to meet in Paris on July 13 for a Coalition of the Willing summit to discuss ceasefire efforts and security guarantees.
