Russian Missiles and Drones Strike Dnipro, Injuring 22 Residents

Russian forces launched more than 540 missiles and drones at Ukraine late Sunday night and into Monday morning. Kyiv said the bombardment primarily targeted the southeastern city of Dnipro and surrounding areas. Olha Melnychenko, 70, was in her kitchen when a blast blew out her front door and windows. She was trapped until rescuers arrived. A girl living below her was severely wounded.
An Air Force spokesperson stated that a cruise missile and falling debris caused damage in Melnychenko's neighborhood. Local authorities reported at least 22 people injured across Dnipro. The city is the latest to face heavy Russian strikes in recent days.
Residents and volunteers began clearing debris and covering windows shortly after the attack. Dmytro, a specialist with the humanitarian group Proliska, said the neighborhood suffered the worst damage in the city, with dozens of buildings hit. Petro Barsuk, an 18-year-old student, said he sheltered in a hallway when windows shattered and glass flew into his family's apartment.
He described the attack as the worst his neighborhood has experienced in more than four years of war. Last Wednesday, Russia launched more than 700 drones and nearly 60 cruise and ballistic missiles into Ukraine, killing 24 people in Kyiv.
