Russian Strikes Kill Four in Ukraine, Ukrainian Drones Hit Russian Border Areas

Russian drone and missile strikes killed four civilians and injured ten others in Ukraine on Friday, officials said. The attacks occurred one day after a large barrage on Kyiv that raised the capital's death toll to at least 30.

Kyiv marked a day of mourning on Friday after the deadliest Russian attack on the capital this year. Ukraine's air force reported shooting down 476 of 496 drones and 48 of 74 missiles launched in the overnight assault. His spokesman stated that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international humanitarian law.

Ukrainian drone attacks overnight killed at least two people in Russia's Belgorod and Bryansk regions. A woman died in Belgorod after being injured by shrapnel, the city mayor said, while a man was killed in a Bryansk village. Fires broke out at industrial sites in Belgorod and Smolensk regions following the attacks.

Water and power supplies were disrupted in Belgorod, about 40 kilometres from the Ukrainian border. The Kremlin said it would increase pressure on Kyiv. Ukraine's president stated that forces would retaliate for the attack on the capital.
