Ryu Hae-ran Beats Brooke Henderson in Playoff to Win Amundi Evian Championship
Ryu Hae-ran captured her second consecutive LPGA major title on July 12 by beating Brooke Henderson on the first playoff hole at Evian Resort Golf Club. Both players finished regulation at 19-under-par 265.

Ryu Hae-ran won the Amundi Evian Championship on July 12 at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France, defeating Brooke Henderson of Canada on the first playoff hole, Yonhap reported. Ryu and Henderson both completed 72 holes at 19-under-par 265. Ryu birdied the playoff hole to claim the title and the winner's check of US$1.4 million.
The victory marked Ryu's fifth LPGA title overall and her second major in three weeks. She won the KPMG Women's PGA Championship two weeks earlier. Ryu became the first South Korean player to win back-to-back LPGA majors since Park In-bee in 2013.
She is also the third South Korean to win at least two majors in a single season since the Evian Championship gained major status in 2013. Ryu shot an 11-under-par 60 on July 11, the lowest 18-hole score in LPGA major history, to lead by seven strokes over Henderson entering the final round. She closed with an even-par 71 while Henderson shot 64.
"This is just a dream. Three weeks ago, I didn't have a major title. And I have now won two in a row. I am so happy. I can't believe it right now," Ryu said. Ryu, 25, is the eighth South Korean LPGA player with at least two career major victories.
The AIG Women's Open, the final major of 2026, begins July 30 at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Course in Lancashire, England.
