In the second set Sabalenka moved ahead 5-0.
Bouzas Maneiro held serve and then broke to reach 5-2 before another double fault ended the match. Sabalenka said after the match that she was happy to return to winning on clay and urged spectators to stay hydrated amid the Paris heatwave. She also noted that she had improved her net play and enjoyed coming forward during points.
