Salesforce laid off employees in a new round of cuts that affected staff working on its Agentforce AI product, Mulesoft integration tool, and Marketing Cloud software. A California WARN notice listed 86 job cuts in roles such as sales, general administration, and technology and product. The reductions follow an earlier round in January when the company eliminated fewer than 1,000 roles.

Salesforce had more than 80,000 employees at the end of January, according to an SEC filing. Salesforce reported last month that Agentforce annualized revenue had passed $1 billion. Business Insider reported in November that use of the product remained relatively low and that its capabilities were not living up to company demos.

Salesforce stock has dropped more than 30% this year amid investor concern that AI models could replace some traditional software, including the company's main customer-relationship-management offering. Salesforce did not respond to requests for comment. CEO Marc Benioff leads the company.
