Samsung begins internal One UI 9 testing on Galaxy S25 and two A-series phones; stable version due first on upcoming foldables

Samsung is testing One UI 9 on the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy A57, and the Galaxy A17. Internal firmware spotted by update tracker Tarun Vats shows builds for the S25 series, while separate testing has begun for the A57 and A17.

Beta 2 arrived roughly two weeks later, and Beta 3 is expected next week. 5 before advancing One UI 9 development. The stable version of One UI 9 is scheduled to reach the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 first at Galaxy Unpacked in July.

It will then expand to the Galaxy S26 series and other devices in the second half of 2026. Samsung is also preparing to release the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and a Wide Fold model next month, both running One UI 9. Samsung Notes will gain decorative tapes and additional pen line styles.

The Contacts app will connect directly to Creative Studio for personalised profile cards. The Quick Panel has been redesigned to let users adjust brightness, sound, and the media player independently. Accessibility changes include an adjustable Mouse Key speed setting and a merged TalkBack package that combines Google and Samsung tools.

A new Text Spotlight feature will display selected text in a floating window. One UI 9 will also warn users about high-risk apps and block their execution and installation. Samsung stated that the full experience of One UI 9 will arrive when the operating system launches in July.

Gemini Intelligence is expected to be limited to the most recent Samsung and Google phones. Samsung is releasing Prioritise and Summarise AI notification features to the S25 series. The rollout has already started in Korea.
