Samsung Begins One UI 8.5 Rollout to Six Budget Galaxy Phones
Samsung started distributing One UI 8.5 to the Galaxy A06 5G and five other low-cost models this week. The update adds interface changes and file-sharing features but excludes advanced AI tools found on flagship devices.

Samsung began rolling out One UI 8.5 to several of its lowest-priced Galaxy phones this week. The software reached the Galaxy A06 5G in India and the Galaxy M17, M16, M06, F06, A16, and M35 in Korea and India. The affected models are entry-level 5G devices priced under $200.
The update includes a refreshed interface, customizable Quick Panel, new camera filters, Direct Voicemail, and Quick Share compatibility with Apple devices.
Some units will also receive an updated Bixby assistant powered by Perplexity AI. The rollout does not include the advanced AI functions such as Audio Eraser and Creative Studio that are available on higher-end Galaxy S25 and S26 series phones. Users can check for the update through Settings, Software Update, and Download and Install.
The company stated that premium AI capabilities remain limited to devices with more powerful hardware.
