Samsung Electronics to Pay Chip Staff Full Performance Bonuses for First Half

Samsung Electronics Co. will pay employees in its semiconductor business performance bonuses reaching 100 percent of base salary for the first half of 2026, the company said July 6. The maximum payout matches the level awarded for the second half of last year.

The payments will be issued July 8. Yonhap reported the decision follows an operating profit of roughly 140 trillion won, or $91 billion, in the memory division during the first half. Analysts project full-year operating profit near 350 trillion won.

Samsung plans to release second-quarter earnings guidance July 7. Under a wage agreement reached in May, the company will also distribute a special semiconductor performance bonus equal to 10. Those amounts will be delivered in company stock over at least 10 years and linked to chip-division targets.

A labor union representing workers in the appliances, televisions and smartphones division has scheduled a rally for July 16 near the Suwon plant south of Seoul.
