Samsung Health App Update Adds AI Guidance for Galaxy Watch Users

Samsung announced a significant overhaul of the Samsung Health app that begins rolling out on June 8. The update converts raw biometric data into concrete daily guidance on rest, training intensity, and recovery. The new Vitals section compares five overnight readings—heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen—against each user’s personal baseline and flags only meaningful deviations.

Cardiovascular tracking now uses a single Heart Health Score that combines sleep, stress, activity, and body composition data.

Load tracks accumulated cardiovascular strain from aerobic exercise and suggests both training intensity and recovery windows. Fitness Index benchmarks heart rate, daily steps, and VO2 max against similar users and sets personalized goals. The app interface now centers on five pillars—Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness, and Vitals—with an AI-powered Energy Score and daily wellness tips on the home screen.

A new Hearing Health feature monitors ambient noise levels and offers personalized insights.

The update is positioned as a preview of capabilities planned for the next-generation Galaxy Watch. An Unpacked event is reportedly scheduled for July 22 in London. Samsung’s SVP and Head of Digital Health stated that the company is evolving Samsung Health to connect Galaxy Watch data with AI-based insights so users can understand their physical and mental condition more easily.
